The Fire Tower itself has a story to be told. Built about 60 years ago to look out for forest fires, it is in disrepair. The second previous owner apparently sold the tower for the materials and whoever bought it started to dismantle it. They took off the roof and all of the stairways before abandoning the project. The previous owner installed commercial grade aluminum ladders that will get you to the top of the 85 foot tower, but the climb on ladders has a pucker factor of 10. It is in my plans to refurbish the tower and have tours so that everyone can enjoy the incredible view from the top. Unfortunately, that project is in the near future and the tower is now off limits. It's just too dangerous to allow anyone on it, I couldn't live with myself if I allowed someone to climb it and they got hurt or worse. I'll make it known to the public when renovations are complete and tours will be available - hopefully within two years.
